Friday, August 7 is our monthly day of prayer for JBQ.   Last month, we prayed for all people and then specifically for our leaders.  In the following two verses, Paul says, “This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.”  1 Timothy 2:3-4.  As we continue to pray for all people, notice the divine dual purpose for this prayer:  1) salvation (reconciliation to God) of everyone and 2) understanding the truth.   Pray that we understand God’s purpose, not only for our prayer, but also for our ministry.  Pray that our lives demonstrate God’s salvation, that our words convey His truth, and that our actions help people understand His love.  “May God give you more and more mercy, peace, and love.”
