Happy New Year!  Wednesday, January 7 is the monthly day of prayer for Junior Bible Quiz.  The Transfiguration was life-changing for the disciples.  This pivotal moment was documented by three different Gospel writers (read Matthew 17:1-13) and referenced by Peter in his second epistle.  Initially, Peter got it wrong; he wanted to memorialize the moment, but God said, “This is my … Son … listen to Him.”  Peter realized his focus needed to be on Jesus, on God’s Word, rather than on the past (2 Peter 1:19-20).  As we begin this new year, let’s remember God’s faithful providence, but let us pray for His “something new.”  Read Isaiah 43:18-19.  Pray for His new plan in your life, your ministry, your family, your church.  May God richly bless you in 2026 and beyond!
